Sound Environments is three sound paintings mounted as one wall installation. The environments of sand, water and beeswax refer to environmental observations and experiences from a research trip whilst travelling through the California desert. Sound is received by the external studio microphone, travels through the pre-amplifier and into the elemental environment by way of an underwater speaker where it is detected by a hydrophone (underwater microphone). The sound then travels back through the pre-amplifier to an external speaker to the listener.
